G.O.T: Knight in shining armour

Although this monarchs reign saw the bubonic plague, or black death, in 1348, that was a negative rarity during his throne sitting. Considering this monarch remains to be slightly overlooked, his reign saw the beginnings of many developments that we still adhere to today. Because there is so much to say about him, you have a couple of clues today (I will forget that Ive already given one with the plague introduction :-D)… He established the order of the garter, which was the first and remains the most prestigious order of chivalry in Britain, being patroned by the infamous St George. As well as that, it was also during his reign that parliament was divided into two houses, Lords and Commons. I like to believe he probably saved a few damsels in distress along the way as well… 🙂

  1. Wow, you’ve been very busy with all of this! I don’t have a clue who this is (or many of the ones you’ve previously mentioned!), but as ever, I’m loving coming over here to have a look! Also totally looking forward to seeing it all with the backstitching in! Keep up the awesomely quick stitching

    • Thank you, that has really spurred me on as Ive been a little disheartened with it recently. I am actually dreading the backstitching! I should have done it as I go but I like the surprise too much 🙂
